This project asks you to produce a podcast that incorporates AI into the writing and production process. Your podcast should be about 5-10 minutes, and it should include at least two audio sources. One source will likely be a recording of you reading the script (you can read the scrip verbatim or loosely follow it), either on your own or with someone else joining you. The second audio source could come from a few different places: you could interview someone, you could get existing audio from YouTube or other sources, and/or you can include background music. Regardless of your approach, you will need to bring your audio together into a standalone file (e.g., mp3) that you can email or otherwise submit to me.
For editing and producing your audio files, Audacity is a good free option. For background music, try the Free Music Archive, Musopen, and the Internet Archive. If there is audio you want to use on YouTube, you can download it. You can also try using AI music generators.
Project Reflection
In addition to the podcast you produce, you should also complete a reflection (minimum 500 words, submitted via email) that addresses the following prompts.
- What was the main purpose of your project? Where were you most successful in achieving this purpose? Least successful? Point to specific aspects of your work and explain how they add to your project.
- How did you spend your time on the project? What challenges did you encounter?
- How did you use AI in this project (including the research, outline, and script)? What were the benefits of using AI? What did AI do well? What were the limits of using AI? What did it not do well?
